Sept 12th , 7 to 9 pm, The Kent 1874 124 William St South, Chatham, ON
Join us for a unique evening tasting and learning more about what most of us consider one of the most everyday ingredients in the cupboard. We’ll be comparison tasting modern wheat to heirloom varieties in various artisan products to see if you can taste the difference. You’ll also meet the people who grow and produce these products from seed to table. The delicious grain tasting will of course be accompanied by locally-produced cheese and craft beer. During the tasting, enjoy a panel discussion with farmers who grow these grains and learn more about around the challenges they face bringing heirloom grains back into the food system. CK Table, with support from the Bauta Family Initiative on Canadian Seed Security, is proud to support farmers from across Ontario to grow delicious, healthy, heritage grains and re-cultivate interest in this forgotten part of the local food movement.

This exciting event will showcase craft breweries and cideries from across southern Ontario in a festival format, as well as host the first-ever Farmer Brew & Cidermaster Summit. Craft beer and cider festivals are growing in popularity and we’re thrilled to bring this major craft brewing & cider festival to Chatham-Kent.

Local farmers will have the opportunity to learn more about the opportunities to work with Ontario brewers & cideries by supplying their fruits, vegetables, grains and hops.
